Designing a Standout Identity for SPH

Challenge

In an effort to further establish SPH as a leader in the field of public health education, the school needed a compelling visual identity and communications strategy to showcase the innovative teaching and research that they are doing.

Solution

Working closely with the SPH dean to understand his vision, the team partnered on a range of marketing communications to help bring this brand identity and communication strategy to life.

We always design and edit the school’s annual publication, SPH This Year, the centerpiece of their brand communications and a blueprint for a variety of SPH communications throughout the year. Each issue strives to elevate SPH’s reputation as an intellectual leader in public health, documenting that year’s notable research, teaching, and community events.

To redesign their website, we introduced a modern, sleek interface, strategically highlighting key statistics about SPH’s programs. A user-centric approach customized the homepage with integrated calls-to-action and admissions content targeted to prospective students.

To help communicators and designers, we created a Visual Style Guide that outlines essential principles for branding in their communications; designed vivid, engaging admissions brochures and email templates for their SPH This Week newsletter and “Public Health Conversations” speaker series; and provided, via our our social media team, ongoing support to expand the school’s reach and engagement on Facebook, Linkedin, Instagram, and TikTok.

Our work with SPH has proven rewarding, reinforcing their status among peer institutions and underscoring the school’s commitment to advancing public health discourse—and also winning multiple design awards and recognition along the way.

I love the work that the team has done on our annual SPH This Year publication. It consistently wins awards, but much more importantly, it elevates the work of the school in the eyes of our community and the world. That is critical for our mission.”
